Transport facilities for students to be discussed

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Minister of Education Dullas Alahapperuma says discussions will be held with the Transport Minister pertaining to providing safe public transportation methods for school children.

The Minister said he hopes to resolve all concerns that students might face in public transportation when schools resume.

The Education Minister speaking at a media briefing said while these concerns remain a challenge, he noted that discussions will be held this week with the Transport Minister and other relevant officials in order to iron out concerns related to the transportation facilities for students.

He also added that an announcement pertaining to reopening schools will be made within the next two weeks.

Alahapperuma added sanitary facilities in schools will be provided adding that, the measures will take considerable time.
