Railway Department incurs Rs.90 million loss

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Department of Railways says it incurred losses amounting to Rs.90 million for the past two months when the country was in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Department claimed it experienced a major drop in revenue, as only a limited number of trains were in operation over the past few days as the issuance of train tickets was suspended during the past two months.
