COVID-19 recoveries increase to 255

A total of 15 persons have recovered after contracting the novel coronavirus in the country, and have been discharged from hospital.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 255 persons have now recovered from COVID-19 in Sri Lanka.

Accordingly, 571 COVID-19 patients are receiving medical care at seven hospitals, at present. 192 patients are receiving treatment at the Navy Hospital while 118 persons are admitted to the National Institute of Infectious Diseases.

85 persons are currently receiving treatment at the Colombo East Base Hospital while 59 COVID-19 patients remain at the Kattankudy Base Hospital.

The Health Ministry confirmed 57 persons who contracted the novel coronavirus are receiving treatment at the Homagama Base Hospital, 47 at the Welikanda Base Hospital while 13 other patients are being treated at Iranawila hospital, at present.

A total of 835 persons so far have tested positive for COVID-19 in Sri Lanka.
