Surprise “XCOM” game hits next week

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Publisher 2K and developer Firaxis have made the surprise announcement of “XCOM: Chimera Squad,” a new standalone spin-off game in the “XCOM” franchise that is coming to PC on April 24th.

Set five years after “XCOM 2,” the action unfolds in a world where humans, aliens, and hybrids are ‘working together to forge a civilisation of co-operation and co-existence. But not everybody wants to shake hands with their former enemies, and so comes the Chimera Squad – a group tasked with upholding this delicate interspecies alliance.

The game will reportedly include gameplay elements from the previous games, whilst also introducing unique characters and upgraded tactical combat. It will be released with an introductory price of $9.99.
