(UTV | COLOMBO) – 25,031 persons have been arrested by Police for violating curfew regulations since the island-wide curfew was imposed on the 20th of March.
The Police Headquarters said 6,426 vehicles have also been seized during the same period.
Meanwhile, 1,512 individuals have been apprehended on charges of violating the curfew during a 24-hour period that ended at 6 this morning.
Police have impounded 354 vehicles during the 24-hour operation.
Island-wide curfew has been in place sporadically from the 20th of March in a bid to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.
