Fourteen Lankans stranded at airports returns

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Fourteen Sri Lankans who were stranded abroad at international airports due to the global outbreak of the Coronavirus, have arrived in the country.

Nine individuals have arrived from Singapore and 5 from Doha, Qatar, respectively on board a Singapore Airlines flight last night (11), while the 5 individuals arrived from Qatar on board a Qatar Airways flight this morning (12).

Three individuals returned to the country from Dubai and the Maldives earlier last week.

A total of 33 Sri Lankans were stranded abroad at international airports, out of which 17 have returned to the country thus far, while the operation underway to repatriate the rest.

The 14 individuals who arrived in the country have been directed to quarantine facilities for 21-days.
