Gunn Talks “Scooby 3,” “Squad” & Drax

(UTV | Colombo) – Before he became known for directing “Guardians of the Galaxy,” filmmaker James Gunn first established himself by writing the screenplays for both 2002’s “Scooby-Doo” and its 2004 sequel “Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed”.

A third film was originally planned but never happened, and recently Gunn explained on Twitter what said film would have been about. In the film, the Mystery Inc. gang are hired by the townsfolk of a Scottish village plagued by monsters. They soon discover throughout the film the monsters are actually victims and so Scooby & Shaggy “have to come to terms with their own prejudices & narrow belief systems”.

Gunn more recently worked on “The Suicide Squad” film and was also asked by a fan which member of Task Force X he believes will have the most screentime in the final cut. He refused to answer, saying to reveal that information would be a “pretty sizeable spoiler”. He also says he knows the film’s rating, but can’t say what it is yet, and that his take on Harley Quinn in the film is “exploding Paul Dini-esque”.

Gunn also recently revealed that he had to fight to cast Dave Bautista as Drax in the ‘Guardians’ films, adding that “it was the most worthy fight I’ve ever fought”.
