The Colombo Municipal Council says tomorrow, Thursday and Friday have been allocated to distribute donations to 12,970 low-income families in Colombo suburbs.
The funds will be distributed in each division. The funds were thus far granted to the public via Post Offices.
However, owing to the threat of the coronavirus a decision has been reached to distribute the funds to recipients’ homes in 47 divisions.
The CMC stated that during the distribution of funds, a database of the public will also be compiled.
Accordingly, the funds in future will be disbursed via an electronic system.
