Stern action against selling goods above MRP

The government has reached a decision to cancel the curfew permit of vendors who sell essential goods at higher prices during curfew.

Minister Prasanna Ranatunga issued directives to the Police and all Divisional Secretaries of the Gampaha District to take legal action against such vendors.

The Minister noted that several incidents of vendors using curfew permits to sell essential goods above the maximum retail price imposed by the government have been reported.

Minister Ranatunga said accordingly the government reached a decision to take strict legal against such vendors.
