Modi proposes COVID-19 emergency fund for SAARC countries

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday (15th) proposed a COVID-19 emergency fund for SAARC countries. He made the proposal during a video conference on COVID-19 held among the leaders of SAARC countries including President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Making the proposal, Premier Modi said the contribution to the emergency fund will be made on voluntary basis. He also offered USD 10 million as an initial contribution to kick start the fund.
