Ja’Pura Uni ragging: 4 students face court

Four students apprehended over an alleged ragging incident involving a first-year student of the Sri Jayewardenepura University will be produced before the Nugegoda Magistrates court today.

The students of the Management faculty are under investigation on suspicion of dropping a tire on a first-year student. The student who sustained serious injuries is currently receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the Colombo National Hospital.

The Mirihana Police has launched an investigation over the incident.

The University Grants Commission and the Administration of the Sri Jayawardenapura University are also conducting separate probes over the incident.
