CSE trading halted for 30 minutes

Trading at Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) was halted for 30 minutes as the benchmark All Share Price Index (ASPI) plunged over 5 per cent soon after the market opening, following turmoil in world markets as a result of coronavirus fears.

The market has now resumed regular trading.

As of 10.39, ASPI had lost over 126 index points or 5.11 per cent and more liquid S&P SL20 had shed over 206 points or 3.86 per cent.

The market turnover was Rs.511.1 million.
