The National Water Supply and Drainage Board says the water supply to Peliyagoda, Wattala, Mahara and several other areas will be suspended for a period of 24 hours from 8am today till 8am tomorrow.
Accordingly, the water cut will be in effect in the Peliyagoda, Wattala, Ja-Ela, Katunayake and Seeduwa Urban Council areas, the Kelaniya, Wattala Biyagama, Mahara, Dompe and Ja-Ela Pradeshiya Sabha areas and in a section of the Gampaha Pradeshiya Sabha jurisdiction.
The water board cited an urgent maintenance activity of the Ceylon Electricity Board in the Sapugaskanda power station as the reason for the water cut.
