Graduate training to commence 5 days after General Election – PMD

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Appointment letters had been dispatched to all the eligible candidates who were qualified under the programme to provide employment opportunities to job-seeking graduates.

The list of qualified candidates will be available on the website of the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government on March 11th, 2020, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said in a media release.

The government requests not to have undue fear if there is delay in receiving letters, the release read.

Upon receiving appointment letters, the candidates should report to their respective Divisional Secretariat within 03 days and the attendance will be marked at the venue, the PMD noted.

Although the letter notes that “the failure to report for training within 7 days of receipt of the letter will result in cancellation of the appointment,” the release emphasized this clause will not be in effect.

As per the instruction of the Election Commission, five days following the conclusion of the election, the training programme for graduates will commence, says the PMD. The Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government will duly inform the graduates in this regard.
