Kurunegala Hospital Director planning to contest election

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The United National Party (UNP) is to complain to the Election Commission against the Kurunegala Hospital Director who is planning to contest the election on the SLPP ticket while being employed in the government sector.

Former UNP MP Sandith Samarasinghe told a news conference that the Hospital Director had launched his election campaign in Kurunegala using hospital vehicles and even nurses were made to attend.

“We will complain to the health authorities as well for violation election laws,” he said.

This doctor came into public view after he alleged that Dr. Shafi had performed cesarean operations on pregnant women against their will.

When asked about UNP plans for the elections, Mr. Samarasinghe said every effort would be made to avoid a split in the party (DM)
