Sajith wants ‘elephant’ for SJB

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Addressing a press conference held yesterday at the parliamentary complex, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) leader Sajith Premadasa requested the UNP to lend the elephant symbol to contest the upcoming general election.

He refuted the claims made by the UNP that its Working Committee passed a resolution last Sunday to contest under the elephant symbol.

“No resolution was passed last Sunday. There cannot be one leader for the party and another for the alliance. The party should give me the authority to handle the election campaign as I was appointed the SJB leader by the Working Committee,” he said.
