Stringent measures to prevent health hazards in Meethotamulla area

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Health Minister Rajitha Senarathne stated that his Ministry has taken all steps in preventing possible health problems after the collapse of Meethotamulla garbage dump.

He stressed that there is a possibility of spreading dengue and influenza in the garbage dump area.

Minister further added, the disaster took place when Government is preparing a special plan to the treatment of garbage in an around Colombo.

He made these remarks joining the ‘Subarathi’ programme of the SLBC this morning (18).
