Indian Navy arrests 3 Lankans for smuggling

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Indian Navy says it has arrested three Sri Lankan’s attempting to illegally smuggle 3.5kgs of gold via sea.

The trio was arrested while they were sailing in a boat in the Indian Ocean.

The suspects, believed to be fishermen, are residents of Talaimannar.

The Indian Navy also arrested four Indian nationals who arrived to collect the illegally transported stock of gold.

Media reports say the group is being detained in India for questioning
