Rs.100 million worth gold seized by Navy in Jaffna

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Two persons have been arrested with 14 kilograms of gold worth over Rs. 100 million by the Navy in seas of Mathagal in Jaffna.

Sri Lanka Navy in a statement said two persons, residents of the same area were apprehended and a parcel containing 14 kilograms and 35 grams of gold was also seized during a naval operation yesterday.

The suspects along with the stock of gold and a dinghy have been handed over to the Customs of Kankesanthurai for further investigation.
