(UTV|COLOMBO) – Showers will occur at times in the Eastern and Uva provinces and in Matale, Nuwara-Eliya and Hambanthota district,said the Department of Meteorology.
Several spells of showers may occur in Polonnaruwa district.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts after 2.00 pm.
Fairly heavy falls above 50 mm can be expected at some places in Uva province and in Hambanthota, Matale and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
Wind speed can increase up to 40kmph at times in North-Central and North-western provinces and in Hambanthota and Monaragala districts.
General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers
