SLPP not afraid of elections- Keheliya

(UTV|COLOMBO) – State Minister Keheliya Rambukwella says the present government is prepared to hold a General Election at the earliest when Constitutional provisions are in place.

Speaking to media in Kandy State Minister Rambukwella said the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna government is not afraid of elections.

The State Minister noted that postponing elections or calling elections early is irrelevant and added that they will hold the election, the first opportunity they get.

State Minister Rambukwella said that all parties have been invited to join hands in contesting the upcoming General Election.

Even though people ask for 50%, the State Minister noted that the basis of it is not the party’s concern.

He stressed that the measures to be taken will be decided by those who have won elections and by considering the winning symbol.

State Minister Rambukwella revealed that the party that the people have placed their trust in to win the election will face some issues when nominations are given out.

He invited everyone to join hands with the party on certain conditions and added that their doors had not been closed.
