Suspect arrested with heroin and unknown drugs in Jaffna

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Navy in coordination with the Excise Department of Sri Lanka recently arrested a drug dealer during a search conducted in Jaffna.

The Navy, during an operation conducted with the assistance of the Chankanai Excise Station in Jaffna, found a person who kept 122 milligrams of heroin and 499 grams of other unknown drugs in his possession, intended for sale, and the suspect was taken into custody accordingly.

The accused has been identified as a 24-year-old resident in Mannar area. Chankanai Excise Station is conducting further investigation on the person and seized drugs.
