Two women at IDH cleared of Coronavirus

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Initial medical tests conducted by the Medical Research Institute (MRI) has revealed that the 2 individuals who were admitted to the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) does not carry the Coronavirus.

Two females, including a Chinese national, suspected to have contracted the Coronavirus, which started spreading in China, were admitted to the IDH in Colombo yesterday (25).

However, a second test is being conducted by the Medical Authorities in order to reaffirm the results of the first test, and the result of the final report will be revealed this evening (26).

The two women were being treated in isolation.

The Sri Lankan national was studying for her Doctorate in China and arrived in the country and was admitted to hospital with symptoms of the Coronavirus, while the Chinese national arrived in Sri Lanka on a visit.
