Y-12 aircraft crash not an act of sabotage-GA

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Government Analyst has determined that the Sri Lanka Air Force Y-12 surveillance aircraft crash was not a result of an act of sabotage.

Speaking to a prominent online news portal in the isle the Government Analyst Ariyananda Welianga ha stated that initial investigations revealed that the crash was not an act of sabotage.

Officers of the Government Analyst’s Department visited Haputale soon after the crash, while the debris of the plane was also subject to inspections.

Investigations revealed the plane did not explode mid-air. Welianga said the final report on investigations is being compiled at present.

He noted that the report will be completed by next week adding that it will subsequently be submitted in Court and handed over to the Air Force.

The surveillance aircraft crashed on the 3rd of January after taking off from Weerawila.

The aircraft burst into flames upon crashing, and all four Air Force personnel on board the aircraft were killed.
