SLTB trade unions to reveal corrupt practices

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The All Ceylon Transport Employees’ Association says it is willing to reveal all crime and corruption within the Sri Lanka Transport Board.

General Secretary Sepala Liyanage said the Association is prepared to issue directives to make better the SLTB, instead of appointing committees to look into discrepancies that are reported by the public.

Liyanage said the subject Minister should gather together all trade unions and inquire into their opinion and views to help develop and enhance services at SLTB.

He noted that the appointment of committee is a mere facade that will further delay the root causes being addressed.

Liyanage added regardless of the government that is elected to power the SLTB is a party branch of the ruling government.
