Applications for law degrees to be called in March

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Minister of Education Bandula Gunawardena says the applications for the enrolment of students for law degrees, that is presently at a standstill, will be called from the 1st of March.

The Minister speaking at a discussion said the curriculum of the law degree is being amended and reformed to meet the present need.

The Minister said talks will be held with relevant professors and lecturers to finalise the new structure adding that applications will be called subsequently.

Minister Gunewardena said the application process in itself will take two months, claiming that lectures could commence thereafter by mid 2020.

Minister Bandula Gunawardena also stated that attention is being drawn to a programme to enrol the 40,000 students who did not receive university entrance for a software engineering degree.
