‘Time is apt for UNP to support 19A abolishment’

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The National Freedom Front says an opportunity has arisen for the United National Party to support the abolishment of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution.

Speaking at a media briefing today, Media Spokesman Mohammed Muzzamil said many issues have arisen as a result of the 19th Amendment.

While supporting the abolishment of the 19th Amendment, Muzzamil said Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa has said he will render a support for a two thirds majority if required.

He further requested Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa to provide the necessary support to abolish the 19th Amendment to the Constitution in Parliament.
