(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Beira Lake Purification Project should be commenced immediately and the steps should be taken to close down the areas from where garbage disposed to the lake, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said.
He told the relevant officials of the Water Supply and Housing Facilities Ministry to take immediate measures in this regard.
He also instructed to take steps to convert waste disposal into organic fertilizer and to use latest technology to make this possible.
Meanwhile, the President also instructed to expedite the Weras Ganga Development Project.
Ministers Gamini Lokuge and Indika Anurudda and Ministry officials were present at the meeting.
