Sri Lanka to represent Young Scientists competition for the first time

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Two Sri Lankan students for the first time will participate at the 24th Young Scientists Competition to be held from 16th to 22nd April at Stutgard, Germany. The students were given the air tickets by Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.

Modification of Microbiology fuel cells via the immobilization of the anaerobe Clostridium butyricum and Escherichia coli-XII blue will be presented by Jithendran Jute Sajith of SitthiVinayagam Hindu College Mannar while Deposition of air pollutants on pollen grains and occurrence of respiration allergies among humans will be presented by Rakindu Wickramaratna of Nalanda College.

The Science section of the Ministry of Education received 16 science projects at provincial level and out of that six were forwarded to the Young Scientists Association out of which the above two were selected.
