(UTV|COLOMBO) – S.B. Navinna, who joined the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) to support the Rajapaksas by leaving the United National Party (UNP) he was elected to, has rejoined the UNP to pledge allegiance to Sajith Premadasa, newly nominated UNP presidential candidate.
He made this announcement at a press conference held at the official residence of Minister Mangala Samaraweera under the patronage of Sajith Premadasa.
Former Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) member S.B. Navinna was elected to Parliament from the Kurunegala District in the 2015 General Elections. He then backed the Rajapaksas and left the government.
Addressing the press conference, Navinna said that he has decided to join Sajith Premadasa to build a prosperous Sri Lanka.
