“Api Wenuwen Api’ fund monies missing,” Mangala reveals

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The security forces funds of the ‘Api Wenuwen Api’ setup to assist war heroes during the former regime cannot be traced, the Minister of Finance Mangala Samaraweera revealed.

He was addressing a news briefing at the Ministry yesterday (25) to explain more details of the war heroes’ pension scheme finalised by the Government earlier this week.

Speaking on the ‘Api Wenuwen Api’ fund formed under the former regime, Samaraweera stressed that the monies of the fund were missing without a trace.

Samaraweera added that the former Secretary to Ministry of Defence Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is duty bound to reveal the truth regarding the fund as the ‘Api Wenuwen Api’ fund had been under his responsibilities.
