Gotabhaya discharged and released from Avant Garde case

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne has ordered to discharge and release the former Secretary to Ministry of Defence Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and 7 others from the Avant Garde case.

The order was issued as per the verdict of the Court of Appeal on the case.

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court heard the case filed against Rajapaksa and 7 others on charges of incurring a loss of Rs. 11.4 million to the State by allowing Avant Garde Maritime Services Private Limited to maintain a Floating Armoury.
