More rain in Sri Lanka’s South-Western areas likely

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Department of Meteorology forecasted that the prevailing showery condition in the South-Western part is expected to enhance to some extent during next few days.

Accordingly, showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and North-Western Provinces.

Meanwhile, heavy falls above 100 millimetres are likely today (22) at some places in Sabaragamuwa and Southern Provinces, and Kalutara, Gampaha and Nuwara Eliya Districts.

Several spells of showers will occur in Anuradhapura, Jaffna and Mannar Districts, the Meteorology Department stated, adding that showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere after 2.00 this evening.

Furthermore, fairly heavy falls above 50 millimetres are likely at some places in Uva and Eastern Provinces.
