More rain in Sri Lanka likely

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Department of Meteorology forecasted that showers or thundershowers will occur at several places today (19).

Accordingly, showers or thundershowers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and North-Western Provinces, while several spells of showers may occur in Anuradhapura, Jaffna and Mannar Districts.

Furthermore, showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Uva Province and in Ampara, Batticaloa Districts after 2.00 this evening, the Meteorology Department stated, adding that fairly heavy falls above 75 millimetres are likely at some places in Central and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, and Galle, Matara and Kalutara Districts.
