Ex-Dy. Minister Sarath Kumara Guneratne in court today

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Former Deputy Minister Sarath Kumara Guneratne arrested and remanded on charges of financial discrepancies will be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court once again today (13th Friday).

He was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over financial discrepancies on the 2nd of January.

The Former Deputy Minister was arrested over alleged financial discrepancies amounting to 12 million rupees reported during the Negombo Lagoon Development project during his tenure with the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) led government.

The bail application filed by the defence attorney will also be taken up for consideration today, reportedly.
