Hewagampalage to fill Gajadeera’s seat in Parliament

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Elections Commission has gazetted the name of Manoj Hewagampalage to fill the seat of Chandrasiri Gajadeera in Parliament which has remained vacant since his demise.

Mr. Gajadeera who represented the United People’s Freedom Alliance from the Matara district, passed away last week.

Accordingly, the Returning Officer of the Matara District had nominated a UPFA member from the same district of the deceased parliamentarian, to fill the void in Parliament.

Manoj Hewagampalage had previously served as a provincial minister in the Southern Province.
