Ruhuna Uni. students further remanded over ragging incident

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Nineteen students including the Student Union Chairman of the Ruhuna University have been further remanded until 23 September by the Matara Chief Magistrate’s Court.

The suspects had surrendered on 06 August after a complaint had been filed at the Matara Police over the incident which involved the ragging of a 1st year student at the University.

Charges have been filed against the suspects under the Torture Act.
