Prima wheat flour increased by Rs.5.50

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The National Movement for Consumer Right’s Protection (NMCRP) said the price of one kilogram of Prima wheat flour had been increased by Rs.5 from today.

NMCRP President Ranjith Withanage said the price had been increased without prior approval and pointed out that the extraordinary gazette notice issued on July 14, 2016, had fixed the maximum retail price of wheat flour and as such it was illegal to increase the price.

The NMCRP requested the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) to take legal action against the price increase by the Prima Company.
