Lewis Allen arrives for FACETS 2019

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Known as one of the biggest buyers of Ceylonese Sapphire, Lewis Allen is now in Sri Lanka to attend FACETS 2019, the international gem and jewellery exhibition that will commence on 29th August at the BMICH.

Having begun his gem trading business about 40 years ago in Sri Lanka, trading in moonstones and garnets, Lewis built his gem business throughout the years and is one of the successful merchants in rubies, emeralds and sapphires at present. Despite the latest tragedy the country has faced, he believes that “the country, which came back from 30 years of civil war and gained the reputation as one of the best countries for international tourism, will definitely bounce back from the April tragedy because of its lovely people”.

FACETS 2019 will be held from 29 August to 1 September at the BMICH, where a wide range and gems that suit any budget; from coloured to semi-precious and precious stones, as well as costume jewellery to some of the best crafted valuable Gold, Platinum and Silver jewellery will be showcased under one roof.
