TWO ARRESTED OVER CLASHES AT CHAVAKACHCHERI HOSPITAL

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Two persons have been arrested by the Police for assaulting an injuring a youth in Varani area of Chavakachcheri, Jaffna with a sword and threatening the rest of the staff at the Chavakachcheri Hospital.

The police stated that the youth was assaulted by two men with a sword during a heated argument that escalated at a party held during the night at Chavakachcheri.

After the injured young man was admitted to the Chavakachcheri hospital,  the two assailants had come to the hospital with a sword and had tried to forcibly enter the ward where the injured person was receiving treatment.

It is reported that they had threatened the nurse and the others in charge of the ward who were trying to prevent these two men from entering.

The police arrested the suspects after they were informed of the relevant incident
