‘කන්ඡිපානි ඉම්රාන්’ sent to Boossa Prison

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Notorious underworld figure Kanjipani Imran has been transferred from Welikada to the Boossa Prison.

Last week, underworld Drug Kingpin ‘KanjiPani Imran’ was sentenced to a six-year rigorous imprisonment on drug peddling charges.

Speaking to a prominent online news portal, the Commissioner of Prisons Bandula Jayasinghe said well-known drug peddlers Samantha Kumara alias Wele Suda and Mohammed Naufer alias Potta Naufer who were languishing at Welikada and Dumbara Prisons respectively, have also been transferred to the Boossa Prison.

The Commissioner noted that prisoners are being held at the Boossa Prison under the tight security while intelligence officers have also been deployed as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile several other inmates sentenced on drug racketeering charges are due to be transferred to other prisons in the near future.
