Suspect with 1.576 kg of Kerala cannabis apprehended by Navy

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Navy in coordination with Police Special Task Force (STF) apprehended a person with 1.576 kilogrammes of Kerala cannabis, during a raid carried out at Kaliyapuram area in Jaffna on 19 August.

Northern Naval Command in coordination with Police STF in Jaffna had observed a suspicious person who was travelling on a motor bike. Accordingly, by searching the suspect this amount of Kerala cannabis was recovered and he was apprehended.

The suspect is a resident of Gurunagar area. He along with amount of Kerala cannabis and motor bike was handed over to Jaffna Police for onward actions.
