Nineteen Ruhuna university students further remanded over ragging incident

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Nineteen students including the student union chairman of the Ruhuna University have been further remanded until August 26 over the ragging of a fresher.

The suspects had surrendered after a complaint had been filed at the Matara police over the incident which involved the ragging of a first year student at the university.

Charges have been filed against the suspects under the Torture Act.
