AG asked to direct advice on Gnanasara thera case

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Attorney General was once again ordered to direct advice on legal proceedings to be taken against the General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) organization Galagodaththe Gnanasara thera, who has been accused of expressing anti-Islam views and defaming the Holy Quran.

The directive was issued when the case was taken up before Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne.

Officers informed Court that the Attorney General has not issued directives in order to continue investigations against the thera.

The Police Organized Crimes Division filed the case based on a complaint by Parliamentarian Mujibur Rahman over statements made by Galagodaththe Gnanasara thera.
