Trains along Main Line delayed

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Train services along the main railway line have been delayed.

The Railway Control Room said delays have been reported after a train stalled due an engine malfunction between the Alawwa and Polgahawela station.

According to the Control Room, the train plying from Polgahawela at 5.25am to the Colombo Fort station, had stalled due to a technical glitch.

Accordingly all trains along the main railway line to Colombo Fort are facing delays. Efforts are underway to restore services and Railway employees have commenced repairing the faulty engine.
