Heavy security to ensure safety at Kandy Perahera

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Around 2,000 Army Personnel and 6,000 Police Officers will be deployed for the forthcoming Kandy Esala Perahera.

All measures have been taken to protect the glory of the perahera which will be conducted from 05 to 15 August, the Chief Custodian of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Pradeep Nilanga Dela stated.

He added that the public should refrain from bringing bags and should cooperate with all the security checks that will be carried out on the days of the perahera.
