Phase 1 of G.C.E. O/L Exam evaluation concludes

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The first phase of the evaluation of answer sheets for the G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) Examination concludes today (12th Thursday).

The Department of Examinations stated that the first phase of the evaluation process commenced on the 3rd of January and concludes today.

Meanwhile, 68 schools used for the first phase of the evaluation process will reopen for the first school term on Monday. The second phase of the evaluation of answer sheets for the G.C.E. O/Level Examination commences on the 21st of January and is scheduled to conclude on the 30th of January.

Accordingly, 20 schools will be used for the second phase. The Examinations Department said 62,000 exam paper markers were directed to mark 15.8 million answer sheets.

It said practical exams will be held after the 30th of January. Over 700,000 students sat for this year’s O/Level examination.
