Husband sought over Lankan woman’s attempted murder in Cyprus

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Police in Limassol are investigating an attempted murder against a Sri Lankan woman, 49, reportedly by her estranged husband aged 46.

According to initial information, the woman was attacked and injured with a knife at the house where she is employed as a domestic worker in Zakaki. One report said an argument occurred over the signing of divorce papers.

The woman was stabbed in the abdomen and the head a neck area with a knife, after which her attacker fled. She is said to be currently undergoing surgery at Limassol general hospital. Police are searching for her ex husband, also from Sri Lanka.
