“I Have not been officially issued summons to appear before the PSC” – Army Commander

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake says he has not been officially issued summons to appear before the Parliamentary Select Committee probing the Easter Sunday attacks.

Speaking to media in Kandy the Army Commander said if summoned, he is prepared to testify before the committee once again.

Commander Mahesh Senanayake noted that he has not received summons through official channels to appear before the committee adding that he only came to know of the matter via print media.

The Army Commander stressed that he has no reservations in appearing and testifying before the committee.

Lieutenant General Senanayake said if an investigation is being carried out it is his responsibility as the Army Commander as well as the responsibility of the Military to support the line of duty.
