Strong winds to reduce over next few days

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Department of Meteorology forecasted that the prevailing strong windy condition over Sri Lanka and its surrounding sea areas is expected to reduce from Wednesday (24).

However, showers will occur at times in Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces and fairly heavy falls about 50 millimetres are likely at some places today (22).

Meanwhile, several spells of showers may occur in the other parts of the island, the Meteorology Department stated.

Furthermore, fairly strong gusty winds up to 40 – 50 kilometres per hour at times are likely over the Western, Southern, Central, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western Provinces.
